FATIMA is dedicated to improving the information dissemination, capacity and performance of civil society organisations who work on gender related issues. One practical way to support our members and groups is to provide an online service that is a reliable source of information 24 hours a day. This area of the website is dedicated to provide information organised in a way that delivers four key service areas all aimed to develop better gender equality: Information, Policy, Consultation, Sustainability

Information

Information dissemination is a crucial part of the services we offer. The information provided in section will allow access to a range of gender focused research, reports, case studies, directory of information related to BME women's organisations and past and present FATIMA newsletters.

FATIMA women's network welcome contributions and reports from members who wish to share their learning and information. Please make contact with the office in the first instance to take advantage of this invitation.

Fatima Women's network is active in ensuring the development of appropriate,well thought out and timely policy that promotes equality and practical ways for improving the lives of women. Consultation

Fatima Women's Network undertakes a number of consultations to feed into policy and other developmental projects. There is always an element of community engagement and consultation in the networking events, conferences, outreach work and focus groups held. This also includes written consultation feedback on major policy or strategy documents.

The links on this page will highlight current consultations being held by FATIMA Women's Network as well as major consultations on strategies, policy and projects being held by other agencies and organisations.

Employement

The Refugee Council is the largest organisation in the UK working with asylum seekers and refugees. We not only give direct help and support, but also work with asylum seekers and refugees to ensure their needs and concerns are addressed.

We believe asylum seekers and refugees should be treated with understanding and respect. Our services aim to reflect this and include:

The Refugee Council is governed by a Board of Trustees, which includes strong refugee representation. We are also a membership organisation and since 1983, our membership base has grown from 50 to nearly 180, a significant number of which are refugee community organisations.

The Refugee Council have recently produced in partnership with the Equalities and Human Rights Commission, a new publication entitled 'Employing Refugees'. This is a short guide, outlining the main documents refugees and asylum seekers have to demonstrate entitlement to work in the UK.
